Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to questions we are often asked.
Q: Do I really need counseling or psychotherapy?
A: There are many ways to heal, grow, and meet goals. If you have tried some things without success, find yourself talking yourself out of the reasons you believe you should go, can't find motivation to act, or keep getting in your own way, you might try it and see how it works for you.
Q: Do you bill insurance?
A: At this time, we are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and United. We are likely to be covered out of network for most other plans. We will work with you to make sure you are reimbursed what you can be if you choose to use your insurance. Many of our clients pay out of pocket.
Q: How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
A: You don't! There are many excellent therapists in the area. Finding the right fit is important. Our suggestion is that you give a couple therapists a try and go with the one that feels like the best fit personally.
Q: How long does therapy take?
A: It depends on many factors including your concerns, your goals, and how well we are able to collaborate together toward those ends. Research suggests that often times people feel better after their first few sessions with a progressive decrease in symptom severity over time. We’ve been trained in both long-term and short-term work.
Q: What will this cost me?
A: The fee is $150 per 45-50 minute session. Initial sessions cost $180. If finances are an issue, please contact us as we are able to carry a small number of clients at a reduced fee under extenuating circumstances. If you would like to use your insurance benefits, we can help you submit the claim to be reimbursed.
